A Heartfelt Gratitude!

We, alongside our clients, extend our heartfelt gratitude to our exceptional donors. Your consistent support energizes our dedication to positively impacting the lives of those in need. Food Hampers
In January, we distributed a total of 762 food hampers containing essential food items to those facing food insecurity.

These hampers reached 1364 individuals including  251 seniors and 70 single parents.
Emergency Hamper
Our emergency food hamper service provides food assistance to individuals and families who have already received their monthly hamper but are in need of further support.

Last month, our food pantry distributed 207 emergency food hampers which is a 40% increase from January 2023.
First Time Visits
In January, we provided assistance to 42 individuals and families who were new to food bank services. This represents a 23% rise compared to the prior month.

We greatly appreciate your ongoing support in tackling this challenge as a united effort. Your generosity has a significant impact!
Children Served
We've witnessed a substantial increase in the number of children we are assisting, now totaling 404 compared to 301 in December 2023.

This represents a one-third increase and marks the highest we've seen to date in a month, highlighting the growing demand for support among children in our community.
 
Community Highlights
 
The first week of January marked the end of another successful season for Sharing the Harvest NL. Thanks to the kindness of local hunters, our food pantry distributed over 350 pounds of moose meat during the 2023-4 season.

In addition to wild game, throughout last year we were also able to distribute cod fish and berries donated by local fishers and foragers, plus several hundred pounds of produce from local farmers. Local food is abundant, and organizations like Sharing the Harvest are working hard to ensure it finds its way into the community.

We would like to thank Barry and his team for their ongoing support and wish them another successful season later this year!

Burger It Forward: A Taste of Giving
 
Farmers and ranchers across Canada are uniting to support food banks through 'Burger It Forward' this February. Canada Beef and Atlantic Beef Products Inc. are partnering with Irving Big Stop restaurants, and together, they're making a significant impact.

For every campaign burger purchased, Canada Beef will donate one meal to Food Banks Canada (up to 20,000 meals). Atlantic Beef Products Inc. is generously donating $3,000 worth of ground beef to Bridges to Hope.

Join us in this meaningful campaign by savoring one of the five featured burgers available at participating Irving Big Stop Restaurants:
