Food Hampers
In October, we distributed a total of 690 food hampers containing essential food items to those facing food insecurity.

These hampers reached 1127 individuals including 210 seniors and 284 children.
Emergency Hamper
Our emergency food hamper service provides food assistance to individuals and families who have already received their monthly hamper but are in need of further support.

Last month, our food pantry distributed 166 emergency food hampers.
First Time Visits
In October we served 74 individuals/families who have never accessed a food bank before. This is a 32% increase from the previous month.

Bag to School Program: Impact
Iris Kirby House: "A big thank you to our friends at Bridges to Hope Food Aid Centre for helping many of our families prepare for the upcoming school year with their Bag to School program. Families experiencing domestic violence face many obstacles this time of year, and programs like Bag to School go a long way to ease some of that stress"

Giving Tuesday by CanadaHelps for Bridges to Hope Food Bank
Win $1000 from CanadaHelps
 
Launch a CanadaHelps fundraiser between November 14 - 28 to enter the fundraising challenge. Support Bridges to Hope through CandaHelps and win 1 of 5 chances to win $1000 towards the fundraiser. Set up your fundraiser with the tag GivingTuesday and set your launch date for November 14 at 12:00 A.M. EST to be automatically entered. And this time, the top five fundraisers who have raised the most donations within the same duration will win an extra $1000 for their fundraiser.

Alex Taylor to Raise Funds for Bridges to Hope
Youth musician Alex Taylor is hosting his annual "Merry & Bright" Christmas fundraiser on Saturday November 25th, and this year he has chosen to donate the proceeds to Bridges to Hope! The event will take place at 7:00pm at St. Mary's Church, 80 Craigmiller Ave. You can call (709) 691-4020 for tickets.
Autism Society NL Donates their Harvest
Our friends from the Autism Society Newfoundland & Labrador were back last Friday with a donation of their harvested potatoes.

We are thrilled to reconnect with our community partners again following the pandemic.
Mclnnes Cooper hosts a Food Drive
Mclnnes Cooper donated 300 Smart Snack kits to make a healthier tomorrow for school-aged children in our community. 
Egg Farmers NL Donates to Bridges to Hope
Like every year, Egg Farmers of Newfoundland and Labrador has been donating local eggs to our food pantry throughout 2023.
Sharing the Harvest NL Donates Local Game Meat
We recently received our first donation of moose meat for the 2023 season. If you would like more information on donating local game meat, please contact us.
Farmers' Market hosts a Food Drive
The St. John's Farmers' Market hosted a food drive on our behalf to help us continue our mission to reducing hunger. Thank you to all who donated!
FedEx Cares Donates to Bridges to Hope
Staff at FedEx hosted a Thanksgiving Food Drive in support of our pantry in October.
The Little Gym of St. John's Food Drive
Families at The Little Gym of St. John's hosted a food drive in support of our food hamper program. Thank you to all involved!

Holiday Hamper Registration for Clients

Registration for holiday hampers will begin on Monday November 20th at 9:00am and continue until spaces are full. Individuals/families who register will receive a grocery gift card to purchase items for their holiday meal. Registration is online at bridgestohope.ca or by phone at (709) 722-9225. Please note registration is on a first come, first served basis.

The largest Generosity Movement, Giving Tuesday is around the corner. With your generosity during this period, we were able to reach more people last year and help them with food and we are sure that they went to bed without hunger. Thank you for all your support!

Miracle on Cookstown Road is Around the Corner

Christmas is a time of giving and receiving gifts from loved ones. But unfortunately for some, it's just another season of battling to relieve their hunger; parents unable to afford food, let alone a toy. Our 'Miracle on Cookstown Road' campaign is aimed at helping these people. Stay in touch with our social media pages to get to receive more updates on this.
